Ramonda Te Maiharoa was born in Bluff, Aotearoa, training at the Brisbane Institute of Art, and working in Australia and New Zealand. Jane Zusters comments: her imagery invites us ‘to contemplate how in the creation of these comfortable [Southland] rooms the nests of birds have vanished. We are asked to imagine a world in which the bird chorus that greeted Cook’s ship has returned and we are one with the natural world.’ Irene Schroder is a ceramicist who graduated from Sydney’s University of Technology. Her art is informed by an engagement with the land and celebrates the materials of her practice.
