Looking Eyes - Land Art and gallery works recorded in photography

The Top Floor, 1st–8th May 2009

The works on show in LOOKING EYES are the result of an Education workshop titled ‘Flora
and Native’ that was offered to schools in Term 1 2009. Works were created in the gallery and
in the Botanic Gardens by four participating primary schools – Merrin, Wairakei, Roydvale
and St Teresa’s from Years 1/2 and 3.

Land Art itself is often created for just a few moments of viewing before nature takes its natural
course. Pieces that evolve naturally are often documented in photography in order to capture
that special moment, gone within the next.
