Meredith Collins’ previous body of work addressed issues of national identity through exploration of her own heritage. She has recently progressed these ideas into something more global and yet, more personal. Collins’ paintings are poised between our reality and an unearthly creation. Animals and figures exist in the same space but sometimes on different planes, with some hovering in between. Collins’ paintings leave the viewer with a sense of wonderment of the beauty in our world and our connection with that which is bigger than all.
