Bex Morris’s large scale sculptures and prints bring together a series of images based on the objects, items and rituals of serving and drinking tea. Morris describes her family and ancestors as Anglo-Indian. The relationship and exchange of cultures and economics between these communities was characterised by both conflict and association. She notes that in the nineteenth century, British trade and colonisation in India was realised through the cultivation and trading of tea. The exhibition encompasses familiar ‘larger-than-life’ objects related to tea drinking etiquette in both Indian and English culture. Morris is a graduate from the CPIT School of Art and Design, majoring in Visual Arts. In 2007 she was the winner of the Mortlock McCormack Law Art Awards
