Sue Upritchard started making collections of cut-outs while studying at Ilam. These cut-outs were first shown in Notion in 2001.
This collection of cut outs keeps growing as do her other collections of cicadas, knitting needles, sewing paraphernalia, fabrics, and games. But it is the process of cutting and sorting that she most enjoys. Hundreds of little cut-outs, each one a reminder of something she once saw and captured to be part of her collection. Sue Upritchard has exhibited regularly since 2003, with shows at COCA, Forrester Gallery, the Dunedin Art Gallery and in Art Goes Country at the Christchurch Art Gallery in 2006.
