Tim Main has worked as a printmaker and sculptor, developing an impressive body of work based on indigenous flora and the aesthetics of William Morris.This exhibition of acts as the starting point for a new work by the artist, being comprised of a series of high relief wall works informed by traditional Japanese screen painting.Flora and fauna are grouped in thematic arrangements on a flattened perspective and subjects range from naturalism to stylised. The paintings reveal the informality of a natural setting within an formal balance of nature and culture.
