Board Art is a celebration of underground culture with the goal of showcasing the scope of New Zealand's creative talent, from emerging artists and designers to highly regarded practitioners with an established reputation in either field.
The brief is for selected artists to take a blank skateboard and respond to it as a graphic vessel or art object to create an original artwork from.
70 artists have been selected and invited to participate in Board Art 2008. Now in its 6th year, Board Art is a highly successful exhibition with increasing participation from local, national and international artists.
As well as original artwork, limited edition commercial skateboards on loan from private collections will also be on display.
Come check this show out, undoubtedly a calendar highlight for both fans of skate culture and art.
