Sam Harrison - Fallen

Mair Gallery, 19th March–5th April 2008

Sam Harrison graduated with a Bachelor of Art & Design from the CPIT School of Art & Design in 2006. That same year he won the Mortlock McCormack Art Award, the Farina Thompson Drawing Award & had a work purchased for the Will Cummings Memorial Collection. Harrison has used both print & sculpture for this exhibition Fallen to reflect the human condition. His work picks up on the fine line between light & darkness that is present inside each of us. It was a conscious decision by the artist to complement two-dimensional work with three-dimensional sculpture to take full advantage of the space in the Mair Gallery. This is Harrison’s third solo show & follows a highly successful exhibition held at COCA in 2007.
